Acquired by Sonepar in 2024, Standard Electric is expanding its service capabilities throughout Michigan.

September 4, 2025, CHARLESTON, SC – Sonepar has revealed new branding for Standard Electric and its divisions Madison Electric and Wittock Supply. Acquired in 2024, Standard Electric serves contractors, industrial customers, and the HVAC and plumbing markets through 36 branches across Michigan and northern Indiana.

The rebranding marks a milestone in the consolidation of Standard, Madison, and Wittock, a strategic plan that will result in the combined companies being able to offer customers expanded inventory and services and a seamless experience across Michigan. Customers will benefit from best-in-class capabilities like custom cable assemblies, prefabrication, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), lighting design, and staging and storage services known as Pro Logistic Services (PLS).

“We’ve had a smooth transition since joining Sonepar last year,” said Bill Gray, President Standard Electric. “Our associates are leveraging advanced software tools for lighting takeoffs and design and participating in career development programs, including the Sonepar Lighting Academy to pursue Lighting Certification. These resources are helping our teams grow professionally while enhancing the level of service we provide to our customers.”

Standard Electric is also accelerating growth in the solar and industrial markets, in addition to specialty offerings like custom cable assemblies for robotics and manufacturing. The Network Communications Division, which supplies datacomm products and services to data centers, is also expanding thanks to the explosive growth of this market.

In addition to electrical solutions, Standard Electric offers plumbing design consultation and products through Wittock Supply and provides generator services through its dedicated division.
